Hǎi nà bǎi chuān ， yǒu róng nǎi dà
Bì lì qiān rèn , wú yù zé gāng
Have you heard the famous saying above?
It was originally a couplet written by Lin Zexu (a Chinese scholar and official during the Qing dynasty who is most famous for his active fight against opium smuggling in Guangzhou). With the meaning about "the sea refuses no river, therefore it has a large capacity;and the mountain is austere because it has no selfish desires", this saying is used by a wide margin now. You can see it commonly at school, on a notebooks or mostly in a Chinese Calligraphy works.
Our students also took the chance to learn this sentence better ——
They practiced to write "海纳百川" in the Calligraphy Class on Wednesday!
Let's see how they made it!
Firstly, Eudora explained history and cultures about Chinese Calligraphy to us.
After learning about the culture of course we went to practice!
Through this class, all of us have learned more about Chinese characters. No matter if you can write in characters when you study Chinse, you will find that Calligraphy is really attractive!
How do you feel about it ? If you are interested， why not join us next time?
September Event：Mooncake Making
